A YOUNG Henleaze hairdresser has been tipped as one to watch after getting a Gold Award from the Reflections Training Academy.
Charlie Spearing, who works as an apprentice at the Maestri Jackson hair salon in Henleaze Road, has been awarded an Outstanding Gold Award for Hairdresser of the Year from the Bristol training centre.
The 19-year-old has just qualified and has only been hairdressing for 18 months.
She also bagged the award for Newcomer of the Year last year.
Her employers, Claire Maestri and Alison Jackson, said: "Charlie is a natural, she has everything it takes to go all the way in hairdressing. Charlie wanted to become a hairdresser when she left school but wasn't sure if it was just a phase, so she stayed at school to do A levels in double business studies and travel and tourism.
"After passing her A levels she realised hairdressing was definitely for her and became an apprentice at Maestri Jackson.
"Charlie is so pleased she followed her dream and loves hairdressing."
Reflections have been going for 20 years and have two training academies – one in Colston Street, Bristol, and one in Commercial Street in Birmingham.
