Albert Adomah sits out Bristol City's opening pre-season friendly

Star winger Albert Adomah was a surprise absentee when Bristol City kicked off their pre-season programme against Scottish Premier League St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park this afternoon.
Although the Londoner travelled north with the Robins, he was ruled out of the opening friendly fixture by a toe injury and watched the game from the stand.
His place on the right flank was taken by new signing Paul Anderson, the former Nottingham Forest winger who joined the Robins on a free transfer last week.
There were also debuts for left-back Greg Cunningham and central midfielder Jody Morris, while former Cardiff goalkeeper Tom Heaton, recruited on a free transfer only yesterday, was expected to make his bow as a half-time substitute for Dean Gerken.
Centre-back Liam Fontaine joined the squad on their Scottish tour, but was ruled out of the opening game by an Achilles problem, while midfielder Marvin Elliott remained behind in Bristol.
Bristol City (4-4-2): Gerken; Foster, Carey, Nyatanga, Cunningham; Anderson, Skuse, Morris, Woolford; Stead, Pitman. Subs: Heaton (gk), Edwards, Wilson, Stewart, Bryan, Bolasie, Reid, Kilkenny, Pearson, Taylor, Amadi-Holloway.
